Self-consciousness: the bane of the non-anonymous blog
One of the hardest things about writing for this blog is determining what is appropriate to write. I assume that most of the people reading this are potential employers. This means, then, that political views and views on controversial issues are off limits. But even things that aren’t controversial often give me pause for thought. I mean, what can I write about here? Clearly not my personal life, unless it’s something relatively safe like “check out my vacation at so and so place! It was great!”
What makes this more challenging, I suppose, is that my website is primarily a career website. It’s not merely an element of this site, as in the case of one Mr. Butterworth. I’m struggling here with how to reframe this website so that the material on here is still interesting, without being a no-no for a potential employer.
The bane of being a blogger, I suppose.

Thanks for the link!
I think you’ve been doing a pretty good job in chosing post-worthy material so far, but I can certainly understand what you are up against.
Maybe you could post reviews of articles and other media, or under-reported stories?
I’m sure you will have better ideas than me. As I said, you’re doing well so far!
