Teaching English:
I’ve taught English to (mostly) Spanish-speaking immigrants for about seven months now (Sept. ‘07 to April ‘08), via Language ETC, a nonprofit. It’s a great program, and I highly encourage you to try it. I was never particularly interested in teaching. I was intimidated, in fact. But the program is well-structured and reasonable to manage. I loved my students and it was great seeing them understand a concept or get ahead by learning English.

Toastmasters:
I’m a member of Dupont Speaks Toastmasters. I’ve been a member since October 2007, and it’s been a great opportunity not just to speak, but to analyze what makes a good speech or presentation.
